E-bikes / Off-road only

Segway Xyber

Off-road riding on private land. It is more like an electric dirt bike than a commuter.

Not a street e-bike. The brand says this is for off-road use only. It would not meet typical e-bike rebate rules (Class 1-3, 750W or less), so do not count on a rebate.

What it is best for (our read)

Off-road riding on private land. It is more like an electric dirt bike than a commuter. Segway states it is for off-road use only and not an on-road e-bike. It would not meet typical e-bike rebate rules (750W limit, Class 1-3), so we show it only as a contrast.

This is our reading of the brand's published specs. We have not ridden or tested this bike.

Before you count on a rebate

  • Check the program's rules on motor size (many cap it at 750W), class, and safety certification such as UL 2849. Compare them with the specs above.
  • Several programs we track require buying from a participating local shop (Denver, Atlanta, Raleigh, Rhode Island and Connecticut). Ask whether a shop near you sells this brand and takes the voucher.
  • Many programs need approval before you buy. Do not buy first unless the program page says you can. See the rebate FAQ and the rebate tracker.
